What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first appointment is a time for your Physical Therapist to get to know you, ask you a series of questions about your condition/injury and past medical history. They will perform special tests to complete a comprehensive evaluation of your strength, range of motion, pain, functional ability, etc.  Based on your diagnosis, prognosis, and personal goals, an individual “Plan of Care” will be devised just for you. There is usually some treatment on the first visit as well, but future appointments will be scheduled to implement your plan of care.

Please allow 45-60 min for your initial visit.

How long is each appointment?

Initial Evaluations (your first visit) are typically 45 minutes. Each additional treatment time is typically 30 minutes.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Comfortable clothing is recommended such as loose pants or shorts, a T-shirt or tank top and comfortable shoes. The body part that you will be treated for should be easily accessible for the Physical Therapist.

*During inclement weather, we highly suggest bringing a dry pair of shoes to change into when you arrive.

**Lockers are available for patient use.
